xREZ Alumni Meghan Kajihara brought an anthropological and ethnographic perspective to research at xREZ including 3D Segmentation and VR user experience in From Being There to Feeling Real. Graduating from the University of North Texas in anthropology, Meghan now works at NewDay Services for Children and Families, a nonprofit organization working to improve the lives of children by empowering their parents to lead more successful lives. Her research experience informes her work as an outreach specialist and data analyst for NewDay’s Fatherhood EFFECT and FOCUS programs. Meghan uses her background in research from the xREZ Lab to transcribe and code data from video footage of exit interviews with participants. She then transforms that insight into meaningful outreach materials featuring quotes and stories from participants in NewDay’s programs to expand their impact. Meghan also conducts focus groups for a long-term study on the progress the fathers make and creates evidence of the impact NewDay has on the communities of North Texas.  Meghan also serves as the Director for Membership Services for the Denton Bach Society
