Ruth West Talks about Transdisciplinarity in the Research University

 

Ruth West presented at the 2015 a2ru National Conference held at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA Nov. 8-11, 2015. The 2015 conference theme focused on “GroundWorks: Improving and Supporting Practice in the Third Space.”

The Nov. 9 panel “Fostering a Culture of Transdisciplinarity in the Research University: A Foundation for Supporting Practice,” included panelists Ruth West (Director of xREZ Art + Science Lab, University of North Texas), Shannon Jackson (Director of the Arts Research Center, UC Berkeley), Raymond Tymas-Jones (Associate Vice President for the Arts & Dean, College of Fine Arts, University of Utah), Deborah D. Stine (Professor of the Practice, Engineering and Public Policy, Carnegie Mellon University), and Bruce Mackh (Director of Arts & Cultural Management, Michigan State University).
