The TxHATS Experts Network fall meeting was held in Bryan, TX Nov. 19 and hosted by SEAD Network members at AdventGX. Joan and Jose Quintana pioneer new cultural initiatives at the intersection of art and science that have helped Bryan become a vibrant community.
While in Bryan, the TxHATS toured the Innovation underground small business incubator, the Distributed Urban Farm Initiative (DUFI), SEAD Gallery, and other community spaces. The workshop focused on ways TxHATS can strengthen regional initiatives and continued to develop actions suggested from the spring Austin, TX workshop.
TxHATS were also invited to attend a lecture and discussion with Dutch kinetic artist Theo Jansen whose surreal creations combine art, science, mechanical engineering, and landscape.
